it's xmas eve people! i've gotten three presents. one from mommy and two from aunts. ^-^ the singing yesterday was fine, although attendance was a little low. i was feeling seriously tired after service so i came home and napped, but when i woke up i had this pounding headache on my left side, so so disabling. today i feel much better lah. went down for breakfast with parents and came back first to read bible, blog, and do work. i don't wanna waste xmas eve idling away.
a note on the use of the word XMAS. people always say, "don't X Christ out of christmas!" well i say christmas isn't a christian word in the first place. christ + mass = mass of christ. UM, i'm not catholic so i don't do masses. Christ wasn't born on the 25th too, someone was just very misleading and made everyone think so. besides, the whole 'spirit' of christmas nowadays amongst the general public has nothing to do with God or Christ or His birth or the purpose of His coming. it's become a materialistic eat drink and be merry holiday where you kiss under funny plants and be good for ulterior motives [santa]. i find it ironic that people 'die die' want to put Christ's name in a holiday that now has so littttle to do with Him, and if you study the origin of christmas you would even be more reluctant to do so. but anyhow, i'm not saying you should or shouldn't call christmas christmas. i'm saying there is no point forming convictions on this trivial matter because it would hardly make a difference in the end. i use xmas because i want to save typing/writing energy, not for the sake of being a rebel or what not. i kind of had to explain all this to people a few times, so i thought i'd just throw everything out here and ask people to read it if they asked me why i used the word xmas.
i shall go wash off my face mask now. :D
