"Trees are great. They are both meanings of 'great', if you would nutshell the many definitions of the word into just two. They are big and they are awesome. Trees look like hands. Trees look like people. Some are stiff and straight and extremely arrogant. Some seem like they would shade the whole world of they could. Those in between aren't really noticed. Trees look scabby. Like old people's feet. But they're supposed to be that way. They'd be no fun to climb were they slick and smooth. Trees are committed. Well, mostly. They stay in one place for hundreds of years. Sometimes they outlive us.
