i know i haven't been blogging much lately, well nothing much has been happening! usual week, although mom's home. she took two weeks leave, one more week to go. anyway my parents were pretty busy running to hospital to see isa and my uncle. i just stayed home and did my work. flunked a test and passed another. =\

on thursday mommy and i went a'shopping after i finished my school (early!). NOVENA SQUARE ! we went there mainly to see that 'korean floor', but we covered the entire mall. :D mom finally got to buy clothes from this shop she'd been eyeing on called FOND.. some sweet clothes there. and come on, it's the best time to shop. GREAT s'pore sale leh~ anyways, i got two nice dresses and a top which has had some mixed reviews, e.g. pajamas, sweater, jacket, etc. (lol, pajamas!!) one dress i got was totally a shocker -- $19 only! and it looks so niiiiiiiiiiiiiice lah. i was actually waiting for mom who was trying something and i saw it in a pile of OFFERed clothes, just pulled it out to try for fun but when i tried it it was too sweet to leave behind!
sales lady: wow that looks nice! (probably regretting setting the price so low.)
mom: ya nice! okay lah you change back and think whether you wanna buy it anot.
agnes: i think no need to think already. hahaha.
when we finally got to the korean floor i went bersek for some reason. no lah, we went into this korean mart and i just found it so cool, cause everything was in korean and the people were talking in korean. like LITTLE KOREA. and i saw things i'd seen on tv before in dramas. cool what, not cool meh? TSK. bought some bulgogi and kimchi and CHOCOPIE and other stuff. after alot more walking we came home and ate the bulgogi for dinner. dad set up the stove thing on the table. so cooooooool. ^^

went for teens club on sat and some new guy called alvin came. :) the lesson was really appropriate-- ecclesiastes 11:9,10 ; 12:1. i've heard many messages on that passage before, but it's always a good reminder. had another cup noodle picnic with the alamon duo and stayed for choir. went back home after that and met bro mike and sis joyce along the way. they're so stylo with their shades.
was DADDY'S B'DAY too! so we had a nice dinner downstairs and i gave him a nice big card. :)

went out with raye after church last sunday. ^^ she treated me to lunch since she owes me a bankload of money. (i've been paying for small things all these years. not that she took a big loan from me or anything. it just adds up. she feels bad about it.) we wanna learn korean at the end of the year, hahah.

vbs outing was last sat too. my shoulders are still aching from carrying the buckets of water, ALTHO i only walked a few meters before help came. on sat evening my shoulders were swollen, especially the right one, and i looked like the hulk. and no, i didn't grow any tanner after all that running in the sun. not even a shade down. i am bound to be a pale teochew-perenakan all my life. the only time a was tan was after that kayaking course, but after all the skin peeled off i was white as ever. =\
thank God for the children that came for the outing, and on sunday too.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ISA, that her hand will be okay and her fingers will heal, most of all that she'll be strong. story in short: she gotta bad cut on left index finger, went to doctor's, got it stitched. but it got infected real bad and swelled up and turned brown so she went to hospital. she went for review and had to be warded. going for surgery . keep her in your mind and prayers!

met raye and sher yesterday ! boy i miss them so much. note present tense. raye's hair is so long, sher cut hair. i think we've all grown a LITTLE fatter. oh speaking of fat, i lost a kg. stress la. (heee) we all ah, really got some communication probs. they say library, then when i got to the library and waited for like 5 mins nobody showed up. so i called raye and she told me they were at popular. -_-" sher was buying something before she WENT HOME, so i only got to see her for a few minutes. spent the rest of the evening with raye trying to study at the library. we shared dinner and went home at 8+ like good little girls. :)

today's not really a good day for me. 90% bad. i wish i could just take an airplane and fly off to somewhere fun and forget my daily routine. not forever, just a while, like a break.

some verses to remember from bible reading today. :)
Proverbs 11:5-6 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

i'm starting to feel the frustration of taking care of my grandma again. everytime she comes back she's a bit less able. her fingers are wearing out now so she can't do alot of small stuff like spreading butter or buttoning her shirt or opening bottles or even holding her cup properly. so imagine me, stressing over my school work and trying to get dumb housework finished before my dad gets back from the market, panicking at her every scream of my name and rushing to her to do stuff like that. if it's a cup situation then it means she spilled something all over. when she calls me she'll scream " ANNAAAAA!!!!" like something really bad happened. my whole room is filled with sloans fumes and there is oil all over the floor. yes, i'm not really enjoying it. praying for, like, a supernatural patient spirit. as is the commandment, i'm finding for things to give thanks for. firstly, that there are no diapers YET, and secondly that she hasn't turned nocturnal YET. :)
a point of clarification, i don't want my grandma to go anywhere else. she's so happy here. i want to take care of her. it's just hard.

AZA !

VBS HAS JUST PASSED! VBSes get better by the year for me, in that i'm learning more precious lessons and helping more precious kids. really thank God for all that went on.

i have emerged encouraged. (picturizing me standing on cliff looking at setting sun with wind blowing through my hair) nah that's just me being emo.

i taught the lesson on the first day. was nervous preparing but as the day came i was cool. (rrrright) the numbers comforted me when i was assured that i wouldn't be trampled over by the usual 30 kids in that particular class. we had less than 20 this year. anyway, i brought my illustrations and prayed with the rest and braced myself for little monsters. at the reception table the kids looked at me funny, the boys were blur and the girls were shy. anytime better than monsters, i know. i introduced myself as teacher agnes in respect for the filippinos and other foreigners there but in the end they all called me jie jie agnes, regardless of race. tried to teach them a new icebreaker but they were all so shy and lethargic that my attempts to try and hype them up were quite futile. through the lesson they kinda listened but i think they were bored. i felt like my throat had been rubbed down by sandpaper by the end of the lesson. tried to be a good and confident teacher. thank God for felicia and sis. maria who are more experienced. games were funny. the teen helpers joined in and played for the teams too. played obstacle course and captain's ball. when there are pri.1-3 girls around, captain's ball sounds like rain's fan meeting. crazy screaming and waving of hands and crowding around. the rain broke up the fan meeting. followed my dad sending all the kids back and came home.

on friday isa drove us there. yunli came to rescue the class from my boring icebreakers! she couldn't make it on the first day cause of some compulsory workshop, but she was the head teacher of our class. so she came and it was her turn to teach, so geil and i relak relak shake leg abit more. the kids were 10 times friendlier and cuter. they tried their best to pay attention during the lesson. they're cutest during refreshments and games! and when i lead in prayer for the food and watch them all close their eyes and fold their hands, i felt this great responsibility on my shoulders-- they are following my example. what a sobering thought. anyway, we played the amazing race and dog and bone. my dad said he saw me running with the kids like a mad person. the kids! they're so disorganized! they read the clue, then all zhao all over the place. i taught them how to stop and think, then decide together. i can imagine pri5 me being one of the kids who zhao all over. i remembered myself playing the first amazing race ever organized in vbs history. so nostalgic hor? pfft. back to the story, at the end of the day i was still energetic, and yunli stared at me and asked, "not tired meh?" i wondered at myself too. i guess i was just so happy that the kids were responding so well that i didn't register my fatigue. UNTIL i went home. was watching TV one minute and lying on the sofa the next. woke up and told my parents," wah, i suddenly battery flat." ate dinner got myself more awake by eating ramen after that, then used all my energy to finish up the ppt lesson for the next day.

woke up later than usual and met isa at yishun mrt to wait very very long for a cab. was looking forward to meeting the children, and praying that God would miraculously use me to teach a good lesson. yunli helped me improve my lousy ppt presentation. kids flooded in, all hyped up about the water games to come. the lesson went smoooothly! they answered the questions very well and i was so happy. i was even happier when alot of them wanted to come to church the next day, and to the outing a few weeks from now. for games they played something to do with drinking coke till their stomachs burst open, but i was busy packing up the classroom to shift the stuff back to church, so i didn't catch that supposedly very funny part. (sad) then the traditional waterbombs was played! i was a mummy, the sacrifice who gets wettest. they wrapped me up in toilet paper, the whole deal. it was ridiculously funny lah, the team i was in. blur and loud and only know how to complain. when it came to free for all, the kids went bersek. i was not totally wet until JACOB LOW AND ROY ALAMON DECIDED TO THROW BUCKETS OF WATER IN MY DIRECTION. after that i just gave up. too wet to be scared of anymore water, just rambo all the way. the kids enjoyed it so much, altho the games were so simple. thank God. headed to telipok to clean up stuff, then went back home and K.O.ed on the sofa again. granny was home when i came back! she's fussy as ever, same ol' granny.

on sunday kids flooded in. yunli taught the lesson and we all practiced the presentation. they got a little outta hand but yunli and i silenced them with our fierceness, which hadn't ever emerged until that day. i am not to be trifled with when i scold children hokay. keke. later they presented the song and got their prizes, ate lunch and went home. i hope they remember what they learned. went to swensens for dear uncle jacob and stuffed ourselves, then later in the evening went to his place for dinner to see him with hair for the last time. end of sunday~

school continues, i am trying to work hard, do more. whaiting!!
what a long post.
