Ephesians 6:13-18 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

listened to a sermon on this passage today and one thing that struck me was the helmet of salvation. helmets are to protect heads. and so our salvation protects our heads. most of the time when christians are attacked it's through the mind. we start questioning and doubting, and with no salvation there's nothing more to think about. but when we know there was a time when we chose God over sin and asked Him to cleanse us and be our King (a.k.a. we got saved), we just have to refocus and obey whatever He says. anyway, it was a great message in which I DIDN'T FALL ASLEEP! =D global phenomenon huh? really, you should hear it too, although the preacher's irish and his accent takes getting used to. ask timmy for the address. HEH.

my freakish headache is subsiding, but i really don't understand why it won't go away. panadol after panadol, i think i'm gonna be transformed into one giant walking panadol LOR. trying not to make a big fuss out of it but it feels like there's a BIG ball barring rolling around in my head, bouncing off my small brain, and hitting my skull. but no worries, it's subsiding so i expect it to vanish soon. =) and hor, pimples are sprouting out all over my collarbones! disaster right? must be the weather.

helped peel and chop veggies just now so my hands reek or garlic and it's spreading to my keyboard. hats off to chefs.

Of course, keeping that metaphorical helmet on can keep you from hearing other points of view. Most of the problems I've had when talking to Christians is that they will not consider any other viewpoint - theirs is the Truth and the only Truth, because that's what they were told before they put that helmet on to block out any other discussion.

It's not just evil trying to break into your mind. That helmet needs to come off from time to time if only to gather perspective.
