messages were themed : the assembly that attracts. it's true that when a church is on the right track it will attract and draw people in. a church needs to be a house of prayer, it needs love, a working together, and members that keep their personal lives with all diligence. my campbook is so precious lor. :) thank God for the camp. lets be disorganised for a while and try to remember some random things.
jieyi and aunty alice were my roomates. FUNNINESS, must accept each other lah, hor?
there were loads of beetles and dragonflies, so logically i freaked out alot. lizards? mei wen ti.
woke up at 6 every morning to help THAT JIEYI prepare breakfast. cannot tahan lah so tired, aunty alice keep talking until very late. i so scared i fall asleep before she finish.
the water heater was crazy so i cooked some portions of my body. OUCH.
aunty alice has never heared of a sleeping bag, neither does she deem it fit to sleep in.
uncle roland [felicia's dad] tried to teach me and jieyi tennis. we helped him loose one tennis ball. feel so bad. uncle roland is funny for he threw a lizard in a packet at daphne.
cherades is one of the funniest games on earth if you play it well. have a video which i'm gonna laugh at later! prepping my stomach for the convulsions to come. keehee. wah our opposing team don give chance one lor, one word was wad.. NUCLEAR SCIENTIST. pfft, anyway we guessed it. *beams* :D
got bullied by the kids. they made me hoola hoop, play with honey, and walk all at the same time. can imagine rite? then on another occasion i had to do a forfeit by doing the hoola hoop and truning around and round and singing happy birthday at the same time. WAD'S WITH ME AND THAT HOOLA HOOP?! :( i think got photo leh, die lah.
played the candle game after the BBQ! chai heng says i cheated my spraying litres of saliva. i learn from beijing one. HA. kidding.
thank God for safety. nobody really got injured. daphne fell but i think it'll heal soon, at least no broken bones.

sher and raye and i are all adjusting too, but i know we're all fine. raye's in taiwan and sher'll be leaving for malacca next week. i think it's the first time we have been / are gonna be apart for so long, so it feels weird and sometimes we get cranky with each other. ah, piece of cake, we'll see each other soon.
speaking of cake, i gotta log cake from my aunt's boss, mrs. Qwee. she's been real nice to me and has been sending me cakes and gifts every christmas and on some other occasions. haven't even met her before. gonna make her a card once i get back from camp.
camp! my two buddies were telling me all about the teens camp i missed an the stuff that happened while i was in china shopping and bullying dim sum men. [joke. lame joke. nevermindd] apparently some teens, guy teens [and girls also lah.] from another church [shalom] came too. wah, when I attend camp got no guys one then when I don't go guys flood the house. FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. aha, kidding lah. anyway there was this recurring name JOEL and i was like, what's with this joel?! joel lah, zachary lah, brian lah, timothy lah, EEYER i dono anyone! this is so not usual. so i saw pics of the campfires and stuff. it looked really fun, but i don't regret going to beijing, it's okay.
granny coming home later. soon. in a few minutes. once again, i can practice my talent in managing old people, which is very raw [the talent lah, not the old people.] ah, here it goes.

so it's finally sunday and we all went to ABM. tim just came back to singapore so he was sleepy and all. it felt weird being new and not knowing people. it's all adjustment i guess. the messages were really refreshing. sunday bible hour was about romans 14:12-23. the passage was about christian love and being a stumbling block. it's a good lesson, always think of the other person and not of your own rights. always be personally accountable to God. it was a more love centered yet balanced message than i'm used to hearing.the service was on psalms 37:23-24 and the title was "assurances of a genuine christian". good time of checking and confirmation. got worksheet one leh. haha.
just now bJohnny messaged me and asked me how it all went and whether i grasped anything from the messages. i said i did, but i'm still getting used to things. he said he's confident God'll help us all settle down and told me he was glad to see us. it's funny, but that's so assuring.

manicure was horrible the second time around. disaster. all the nail stuff peeled off. =(
got to show my bargaining skills. initially i just bargained for myself but in the end i helped my aunt too. they quote 100 you say 20. in the end they will settle for 25. IT'S FUN. when you start to walk away they'll go, hao ba hao ba wo bang ni bao qi lai ba. cannot let them take advantage lah, cannot. the girls at those accessory shops we were shopping at sid i was a gentle bargainer. yalah, no need to shout whad. just smile and quote your price, say, na jiu bu yong jing la zhen de tai gui le. xie ni la. =) and walk away, then they'll ask you to come back and sell it at your price. TRY IT. like a game. hahar. so i bought some earrings and three special rings. :)
ah, one funny thing on the way to beijing [28th]. this stewardess told me to put the leg rest up and then she said, your son too. [shockified and frowny-faced.] me: my son? stew: not your son? sorry about that. me: cousin. stew: sorry about that. sorry about that. ah, i just tell myself its my height.
sat an electric bus to carrefour! and to the zoo. all i can say is, i love the singapore zoo. at the zoo there were three spcial shows just for us! one fox pooping, one panda pooping, and one white tiger pooping. maybe the weather stimulates the bowels? :D
tell you ah, when te china ppl spit they can aim zhun zhun one ohkay. throughout the trip i have observed maybe hundreds of ppl spitting [didn't observe intentionally. it just happens eveywhere you turn.] and their mouths become guns of phlegm when they spit. very scary very yucky. *shivers*
air in beijing is very bad. polluted cause of the costruction and traffic and, i dunno, burning of coals? anyway, everyday you can catch relatives digging their noses intensely because of all the dirt you collect through the day. AND there's so much side smoke from those smokers! AH! but the air was good at tai an an especially on the mountain taishan.
food there? hmm, quite okay. we ate mostly at restaurants. the fisrt day i didn't wanna eat cause the food was plain weird, all mushrooms and fungi. the rest of the days were okay. i only avoided the toufu, which is smelly, it comes out smelling the same way it did when it went in. MAN. one of the days we had dinner at a korean BBQ restaurant! that was joy. seriously, it was delicious and cheaper than singapore AND i got to say anyonhaseyo to someone who really understood what it meant. yeahh.. another day we went to eat pizza hut. everything was the same lah, BUT CHEEPER. :) got to down two glasses of ice capichino. 2 LEH! we also ate macdonals twice because it's near to the shopping center we shopped at alot. have i mentioned the rice there is different? it's fatter and stickier, something like japanese rice. and they don't eat rice regularly. i think most of the time they just eat the dishes without any rice. so, before we left the airport there, my aunt's friend gave us a good KFC meal. the KFC there has some other stuff, like egg tarts and funny coleslaw.
the weather in beijing was dry, no rain. temperature were 4-6 degs, and my bro came home today [sunday] telling me it was 1-minus 0 degs now. my skin suffered abit as my face peeled and my lips were dry. the skin on my thigh too was peeling. my hands were fine. at taishan it was subzero and very fun. i rate that mountain worse than lombong. yes, i do. at least there's waterfalls on lombong to stop you from going crazy. oh well.
will post more as the thoughts come to me.

- first day: sleeep. oh beloved zees.
- second day: relax and adjust. meet beijing friends [of my aunts] and visit boring aquarium. sorry beijing, it's seriously boring. can't deny.
- third day: Tienanmen Square and Imperial Palace,
The place where "The last emperor of the Ming dynasty hung himself!
Huang Fu Zhing (Beijing's Orchard Road) - fourth day: DA GREAT WALLLLLL. sucks the life out of you but makes you feel so accomplished. like superman. cold but shiok.
- fifth day: Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.
then on thursday we went shopping at the local CARREFOUR [prices lower than singapore, logically.] and took our NIGHT TRAIN designated to tian an, the place where the mountain TAISHAN is in. train ride there was ohkay, facilities quite old but the ride and finding of seats was quick and smooth. i took the upp-est deck [3rd] which is higher than my loft bed at home because i'm younger, taller, and i boasted about my stupid loft bed. lol. only right lah, how can i make my aunts or uncle climb? train was cool. one compartment has two three decked beds [confusing but qwenchanayo] and there were 7 of us, so, rightfully, tim had to sleep in some seperate compartment together with strangers. POOR TIMMY.
when we reached tai an, we met our second tour guide of our china trip, who seemed to be nicer and more experienced and older and DOESN'T SEEM TO SMOKE/SPIT, unlike the first one. he saw my lil cousin and we found out he has an 11 mth old son. AWW. yeah he made the trip enjoyable.
so we climbed the impossible-to-me mountain which is 1545meters and has over 6000 steps. the product? I'M LIMPING. it was real high and we were in the clouds when we reached the top ... everything was white. i felt really free. then it started to snow little crystals, then the snow got really heavy. the guide said it was considered really heavy, and i was so dimmy happy. tim and i opened our mouths to try to eat the snow. =) happiness. it was beautiful. wish u all were there. THEN the steps got really slippery and as it was snowing up on the peak, it was raining at the bottom. had a funny time climbing down as i watched timmy and my relatives fall down one by one. OH, bad me.
went to other places concerning confucius, his birth, death, stuff. then the guide brought us to a FREE FOOT MASSAGE but all i got was a good feet-soak cause they said 18 and below cannot massage because it'ss mess up your health or something.
the train back was much newer BUT it was so crammed and it was so hard to find our places. in the place my aunt was supposed to sleep there was A DISGUSTING MAN INSIDE. he was supposed to take an upper deck but he saw nobody in the lower one yet so he took it. EEYER! tsk. there was also a fight in the car beside where we were sleeping. china men squeezing here and there and shouting. EEEEYER!! i don like, but i survived. hahar. woke up with no voice and a very painful throat, think it was because of the smoke that was filling my compartment during the night. WHY SO MANY CHINA PPL SMOKE ONE?! =( was so happy to reach back at my aunt's apartment this morning and totally K.O.-ed on the couch while somebody was watching tv. hopefully i won't get any sick-er. =)

Thursday, November 16, 2006
i think i've packed almost everything i need. got some cool leather gloves and OHOH did i mention, tim was lent this leather jacket that is so so nice and smells so so leather. i sneeze when i smell it, that's the intensity of the smell. we're trying to air it so tim doesn't give china the first impression of a cow. i managed to get some pretty nice jackets myself. *grinnns* ah, hopefully we don't look too tourist-ish there. if someone starts rattling to me in chim chinese beyond my understanding i've resolved to just say, jiang ying yu ke yi mah? and if they continue rattling on then i'll just say, anyong ha-seyo! and bow and run away.
see? i've got it all figured out. :|
been saving saving saving money [other than my mos meals on sunday. FYI i don't really at out during the week due to my parents' love for cooking, so i'm not wasting money by eating at mos burger on sundays.] and finally i can go to china and SHOPPPPPehhhh. hopefully everything's realllllllyyyyy cheap there. hopefully all the branded unimitation goods are realllllllyyyyy cheap there. hopefully i find S$100 there. and the list goes on ...
bran has developed the habit of squeezing behind the sofa from one end and poping out SO CUTELY at the other end releasing with him a huge puff of dust and other yucky behind-the-sofa-and-never-to-be-discovered stuff. dono whether to smile at him or slap him. tsktsk. :)
ask me to sing 'gom semariga' when you see me. ask timlow to dance along. AHAHA.
will try to make it for the camppp. lots of people asking me to go. SEE HOWW. i may just be too busy at home defrosting OR sleeeping OR doing both at the same time. AYE i dono how to go to the camp site. :(
since beijing is the primary thing on my mind now, the image of me, standing at the great wall with my hair blowing in the wind, is stuck in my mind. IT'S SOH FUNNEH. will bring back pics if tim's camera survives the weather.
add on an inspirational/idiotic face to that mental picture.
PS my hair is naturally brown, thank you.

THEN, i went out my buddies to j8 [again] to eat and i draggggged them all to mos burger [again]. this time, our guest of honor was sher's brother. the last few weeks it's been raye's brother. so i guess the next week i gotta bring tim. *shrugs* like always we talked loud [very noisy mah, cannot hear each other. mei ban fa. EXCUSE] and had a good chat. rachel pointed to what she WANTED to order but appearantly the counter person got it wrong so she had to eat somthing she didn'torder and SHE DIDN'T LIKE ITT. aww so poor thing. marcus gobbled up his burger and asked, how much's another one? WAH, big appetite, or maybe small burger lah. so he bought himself another one. sher had to go blading so we all headed home.
the beijing trip is getting closer and closerr! exciting. :) i hope i don't get all grumpy there cause i DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING. ah.. beijing beijing. beijing toilets no doors, that's what they all say.
AHAHA! uncle.. um, MR. kimhee views my blog now eh. HULLO! SORRY IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING! heehee. why cannot call you uncle? then what to call you? aiyar uncle doesn't sound old lar. =D

last year (or some past year) i was helping in a supervisor training course for people who wanted to be supervisors to homeschoolers (and you are all blur, but it's ohkay.) and there was a guy and his wife who participated. his name's kim hee. anyways, his son is now in HLC! and suddenly he came up to me today and said, HEY AGNES NI HAO MAHHH?! (me in shock) i remembered his name because i thought it sounded like kimchee, the korean food, when i first heard it. so he asked me how i was and about my hair and scouts and school and general stuff and i hadda go. :) YAY, i'm recognizable. heehee. it's my spastic face, i tell you.
today sis. maria mentioned my rate of growth (northward). i wonder if i permed my hair and dressed up, would i pass off as an 18 year old? *idiotic thinking face* :D
today's my friend' birthday celebration at the nite safari and I'M NOT THERE. sorry melodyyyy. :( SORRY!
will post up pics asap. RAYE, YOU PIC SNATCHER YOU!

homeschoolers are passed off as physically soft and unfit, and huge kids in public school ge away without so much as one hurtful remark. tim gets ridiculed most of the time and I HATE IT.
Sunday, November 05, 2006
sher had some scouts test on so raye and i proceeded to our hopefully weekly lunch together. i didn't mind that her mom and brother came along, or rather that i was leeching on to her and her mom and brother. anytime better than eating ALL ALONELY. keehee. had wantan mee that aunty penny told me wasn't nice after i ordered it. then raye and scaled j8 just like we always do, spending more time at sasa than any other place and wishing out loud that we worked there or owned the shop.
THEN ARH, this one i must complain man, THAT RAE-CHER GO AND SPRAY SPRAY SPRAYYY PERFUME so called testing SPRAY UNTIL SPRAT IN MY FACE LAH! like, PSSST! then i, OWOWOWWW, then she hold my shoulders and shake me, SORRYY SORRYY. therefore, i had teary eyes and perfume in my mouth for the rest of the afternoon. *note, SPRAT isn't a typo. it's some word i cooked up hopefully to get the essence of my message across. the entire spray was directly aimed at me in my trajectory not more than 10 inches away from my beloved face lahhhhh! 10 inches very generous aredy ohkay. if it were a stranger i'd consider sueing her. but it's rayeraye, i'll settle with slapping her. kiddinggggg.
i'll just stomp on her foot. heh. ok lah, step lah.
EEYER, alcohol in my eyes. RRAAAAARH.
came home with headache, which became bad headache and wore off after a few hours. oh asprin, where art thou?
the weekend has passed so fast! ah my beloved weekends, why? WHY? :)
have good days and remember me.
